What types of discounts/promotions can I provide to my Users in Optix?

The Discounts functionality in Optix allows you to provide special pricing, promotional offers, or credits to your users and teams. Whether you’re rewarding loyal members, running a seasonal promotion, or offering corporate packages, Optix gives you flexible tools to manage discounts across plans, passes, invoices, and automations.

Adding discounts to your coworking or flex space can help you:

  • Encourage loyalty: Reward returning users with recurring or milestone discounts

  • Drive conversions: Offer promotional pricing to convert leads or trial users

  • Simplify billing: Apply discounts automatically through plans, passes, or invoices

  • Enhance flexibility: Customize how and when discounts are applied with Automations+


How discounts and promotions work in Optix


There is no single “discount switch” in Optix. Instead, you can apply discounts using different tools depending on how, when, and to whom the discount should apply.

Below are four ways through which you can offer discounts within Optix. Click on any of the options for more details on how to set up the discount.

Use Plans and Passes as vouchers for discounts

Use Plans and Passes as a voucher to provide discounts on Resources, Products, and Check-ins. This can be done through an Overage discount added to a Plan or a Pass. You can also create a custom access package with items you'd like to offer discounts on. Learn how to create custom access.

Apply a discount directly to a Plan


Discounts on the price of Plans by assigning a custom Plan, with a discount applied, to a User or a Team. You can also take a Plan Template as a reference and change the price. Learn how to add a Plan to a User or a Team here.

Add a discount as a line item on an invoice

Include a discount manually by adding a custom line item on a User’s upcoming invoice. Learn how to create custom item lines.

Automate discounts using Custom Properties (Premium feature)


​Use Automations with Custom Properties (Premium feature)

  1. Create a Custom Property for the User (e.g., Promo Code = X)

  2. Set an Automation trigger (e.g., New User/Plan added ) with that property

  3. Add the action Add Invoice Item (credit) or Add Allowance

  4. (Optional) Add a delay before applying the discount (e.g., apply credit after 30 days)

  5. (Recommended) Notify the User via Send Message (email or in-app)

Note: The fourth method requires Automations+. Make sure your plan includes this feature.

FAQs

Are promo codes available in Optix?

Optix does not rely on a single promo-code field. Instead, promo-style discounts can be implemented using Automations, Custom Properties, and invoice credits.

Can I limit discounts to specific users or teams?

Yes. Discounts can be targeted using:

  • Custom Plans

  • Pass assignments

  • Custom Properties and Automations

Can discounts be applied automatically?

Yes. Discounts can be automated using Plans, Passes, or Automations, depending on the use case.

Troubleshooting

Discounts aren’t applying as expected

  • Confirm the correct Plan, Pass, or Automation is assigned

  • Check whether the User meets the required conditions

  • Verify that Automations+ is enabled (if applicable)

A discount was applied incorrectly

  • Review invoice line items

  • Adjust or remove the discount manually if needed

Note: You can either choose to offer Users discounts on overage to their included items by choosing Limited access + discount or just Discount when adding a Plan.
