How do I bulk edit multiple Resources at once?

As an admin, learn how to use the bulk editing functionality to edit several resources at once

Written by Raul Zhou

Many resource attributes can be updated by using the bulk edit functionality in Optix. This allows you to quickly change a property across multiple resources without having to edit each one individually. The following attributes can be updated using bulk edit:

To use the bulk edit function:

  1. Navigate to Resources in the left-hand menu of your web dashboard

  2. Select the resources you wish to edit using the checkbox to the left of the resource details

  3. Click Bulk Edit at the top of the list of resources

  4. From the slide-out panel, edit any attributes you wish to edit in bulk (i.e. types, booking groups, availability, pricing, custom tax rate, conditional pricing etc.)

Note: If the resources you selected have different values set, you’ll see ‘multiple values set’ as a subtext.

  5. Hit Save to finalize any changes

Understanding custom tax rate options for bulk editing Resources

When bulk updating custom tax rates on multiple Resources, you’ll be asked to choose from the following options:

  • No change – Keep each selected Resource's current tax rate as-is. Use this if you don’t want to update the tax rate.

  • Use default – Apply your default tax rate to all selected Resources. This overrides any custom rates they may have.

  • Set custom – Enter a specific tax rate you’d like to apply to all selected Resources.

Note: If the selected Resources currently have mixed rates set, "No change" will be preselected by default.

Understanding conditional pricing options for bulk editing Resources

Conditional pricing is also bulk-editable. This is the fastest way to apply the same conditional pricing rules (for example, a "Night Owl Discount" or a "VIP rate") across many Resources at once — instead of opening each Resource individually.

When bulk updating conditional pricing on multiple Resources, you'll be asked to choose from the following options:

  • No change – Keep each selected Resource's existing conditional pricing rules as-is.

  • Make a change – Define a new set of conditional pricing rules that will apply to all selected Resources.

Important: Selecting Make a change will replace the existing conditional pricing rules on the selected Resources. The bulk edit flow will warn you with the message: "All current conditional resource rates will be removed." If different Resources currently have different conditional pricing setups you want to keep, edit them individually instead.
