If your organization has told you that you're able to unlock doors with your app, follow the steps below! Not sure if you can unlock doors with your app? Ask your space administrator.

If you are using the Optix app:

If you are using the Optix app (vs a White Label App under your organization's name), you will need to download the Kisi app and create a Kisi account before proceeding to unlock your doors via the Optix app. If your space has a White Label App please proceed to the section below.

  1. Open the app and navigate to the Home screen

  2. Select the 'Unlock doors' home screen button at the top

  3. Select the door you'd like to unlock. Note: Only doors you have permission to unlock will appear

If you are using your own organization's White Label app:

First, ensure you are on the latest version of your app:

  1. Tap the More icon on the bottom right of the menu bar

  2. Select Settings

  3. Scroll down to the bottom and look for your App Version. You should be on App Version 6.4.2 or higher.

Next ensure that for iOS users, your Bluetooth is turned on, and for Android users, your NFC is turned on.

For iOS users, you will see a Bluetooth permission screen when you launch the app after updating to the latest version of your app. If you deny the Bluetooth permission you can reverse this by:

  1. Tap the More icon on the bottom right of the menu bar

  2. Select Settings

  3. Toggle the Bluetooth permissions to on

Note: This toggle will not appear if Bluetooth is enabled and you have already granted permission for the app to use Bluetooth.

Once you are at the door, ensure your app is open. Tap your phone to the lock and you're in!

You also have the option to simply press the 'Unlock doors' button from the top of the home screen to select the door you'd like to unlock. Note: Only doors you have permission to unlock will appear.

Note: As long as the Optix app is running in the background and didn’t get killed due to, for example, memory settings usage-wise, you won't need to have the app open to unlock doors. In addition, for Android, the device screen must be on, to wake up the NFC, which is required to unlock doors.
