If you want people to be able to book resources in your location directly from your own website, you can do this by embedding the drop-in bookings widget.

With the Web Widget feature, prospective clients who visit your website will be able to select a room or desk, choose a time, and pay for it – all from your website. In addition to having it on your website, you can also copy a custom link that you can use in marketing emails, etc.

The Drop-in Booking experience

When a new customer makes a booking, you will be able to collect their payments upfront and their payment information will be added to their profile in Optix (they can pay on your website vs being sent a link to an invoice after the fact). Here are the steps a User takes via your Drop-in Widget:

  1. User selects the resource and time they'd like to book the resource

  2. User inputs email.

When entering email, existing Optix users are prompted to enter their password, new Optix users input first/last name and choose a password. Users may use Google or Linkedin for SSO, as well.

  3. User sees a summary of the amount owed and adds a payment method if they are a new user. If they are an existing Optix user, they will be able to choose a credit card they previously saved in their account.

  4. User sees confirmation that payment succeed/failed. The booking confirmation includes several options, e.g. cancel a booking or share this page (see below).

  5. User will receive a confirmation email with booking details. You can customize this email and create any additional messaging via your Automations.

Note: The drop-in widget does not override existing user names. If an existing user (with the same email) tries to book a resource using the widget, the booking will be under their name as seen in your dashboard and not under any new name they enter in the drop-in booking widget.

Note: The drop-in widget does not use existing Users' allowance. If they have purchased a Plan/Pass with allowance, they need to making bookings via your app to utilize their allowance.
