No, this is expected to happen from time to time and won't affect your presence data overall. Optix normalizes the data it collects over time, which smoothes out any in-the-moment discrepancies you might see occurring in real time. Why does this happen?
The real-time data is very reactive, meaning it will report a user as "here" in whichever space they were last closest to. When there are a number of beacons within a venue this can jump around, especially in open seating areas.
However the analytics data is "normalized." This means it will cut out these anomaly points. For example, say you're sitting in "Area A" for 10 minutes, then the beacon in "Area B" picks you up for a minute before again jumping back to "Area A." When Optix normalizes the data, it will ignore the "Area B" check-in and just log you in "Area A" for the whole time.
Optix does this for a few reasons. The beacons vary in range and frequency all the time. This means that the data is noisy, so Optix has to account for that noise and average over a period of time to get the most accurate final data.
The real-time view is made available to our clients to give you confidence that the system is working and collecting data in the moment. There is always a trade-off between responsiveness and assuredness, but the final result that you see will be able to normalize for virtually all discrepancies noted in real-time.
